Hi there! I’m a librarian and book reviewer in the Pacific Northwest. I’m also a proud Simmons College grad—MSLIS & MA Children’s Lit (’15)—and cat dad of two. I currently work as a youth services librarian, coordinating youth and family programming at the main library of a three-branch city system.
Though I love all aspects of librarianship, I’m especially passionate about school-age programming, equity, inclusion, and social justice. I also have a soft spot for storytime. Ideally, this blog will touch on all these things but it’s also just a venue for me to chart my observations—and my path—in the world of young people’s literature.

Why “The Stories Guy?”
While serving in AmeriCorps, I provided outreach storytimes and deposit collections to child care facilities in Southern Oregon. I had this terrible habit of always forgetting to introduce myself, so most kids started referring to me as “the story guy.” That domain name was taken so I adopted instead “the stories guy.” (Stories are better plural anyway.)
